In a recent Believe You Me podcast episode, Bisping discussed Diaz’s enormous lawsuit.
Regarding Diaz, Bisping remarked, “Winning a lawsuit is one thing, collecting from a lawsuit is very, very different.” “I think it’s extremely, extremely rare that someone actually gets paid or even receives a judgment or award. Furthermore, a boxing promoter in this situation might easily dissolve the company and file for bankruptcy, at which point they would be out of business.
Not to add that suing the man will be extremely expensive. These items are not inexpensive. Even though it appears like a case that would be resolved easily, there will still be costs associated with the judicial process, which Fanmio’s side would undoubtedly have to bear. Since then, Fanmio has released a statement regarding Diaz’s complaint, calling it “frivolous” and declaring that “truth will triumph.” Earlier this week, the lawsuit was filed in a Miami federal district court.
