SAD NEWS: JUST IN TENNESSEE VOLUNTEER THREE KEY PLAYERS HAS AN INJURY DUE TO…

Despite not being a five-star “blue chip” recruit and not having had an outstanding rookie campaign, Tennessee basketball player Cameron Carr is nonetheless generating a lot of buzz ahead of the Vols’ 2024–2025 campaign.

Carr is rated by NBADraft.net, a website that has been specializing in NBA Draft projections since 2000, as one of the top players in the nation this year and a potential lottery selection.

Carr is a top-ten choice in their first mock draft of the 2025 NBA Draft, which was announced. Carr, ranked eighth overall in the mock draft, will sign with the Utah Jazz.

“Following a freshman season in which he played limited minutes, in just 14 games, and averaged less than 2 points, you won’t find Carr’s name being mentioned in many first-round mock drafts,” Aran Smith of NBADraft.net adds. But once the season starts, don’t anticipate that to remain the same.

“Carr oozes potential with his enormous wingspan, explosiveness, and body control, along with his ability to shoot outside. He lit it up at the Jayson Tatum Elite Camp in early July. With his strong handle and quick first step, he also exhibits a lot of ability to dismantle opponents off the dribble in isolation. He’s an ambitious player, but there’s a hint of Kobe in his style.”

Smith notes that earlier this summer, Carr made an impression at the Tatum Elite Camp and attracted a lot of interest for the incoming sophomore. He can emphasize physicality by driving to the hoop and shooting around the rim.

In the event that Smith drafts as anticipated, Carr will become the first player selected out of the SEC, ending France’s reign as the top overall choice.

Some have forgotten Carr since Dalton Knecht is one of several seniors departing the program and the Vols are bringing in transfers to replace production. Nevertheless, he has the potential to be the best returning player on the team this season if he has the breakout season that many are hoping for.
