Both drivers are in an intriguing situation, but Reddick has already stated that Hamlin will pay the price if he wrecks his No. 45 Toyota while racing the No. 11 vehicle.

Reddick laughed and stated, “If I tear it up, he’s paying for it,” as reported by FOX Sports’ Bob Pockrass. It’s his vehicle. To be honest, I don’t want to use that against him, but I think we race each other really hard and fairly. We seem to have a decent amount of mutual respect and trust because I’ve learnt a lot about racing from him as well. But it’s evident that he wants to win here, and I know that when we get to a location like this. I want to win this so badly, I know it.
We’ll just handle it during the day and see how it works out. He is obviously strong, as is the 11 team. The guys that have performed well all year long are the 5 and the 9. But I wonder if he considers it during our races, thinking things like, “Man, if he uses me up, is he worried about his race or worried about having to fix this racecar?”
One of the favorites coming into Brickyard 400 is Tyler Reddick.
Reddick has finished seven of the eight races since the All-Star break in the top ten, making him perhaps the greatest player in the field going into Sunday’s event. Reddick won his first race of the season at Talladega in April, but he hasn’t been able to repeat that success this time around.
He is among the favorites to kiss the bricks at the end of the 160-lap race since he was swift in practice and, evidently, in qualifying. Reddick is also aware that he is only 15 points behind Chase Elliott in the competition for the regular season points title of the 2024 NASCAR Cup Series.
“We are aware that many of the players who are in the points are also right behind us, making adjustments over night and carrying out their necessary tasks,” Reddick stated on Saturday. “Therefore, we must be aware of all the possibilities that surround us tomorrow.”
