BREAKING NEWS: Los Angeles Dodgers manager announce his retirement just now due to…. READ MORE..

Once more, the Dodgers’ pitching is a complete mess. Due to right elbow tendonitis, Ace Tyler Glasnow was placed on the 15-day disabled list on Friday. As a result, he will not make his planned start on Friday.

In order to activate Justin Wrobleski to start Friday’s series opener against the Cardinals in St. Louis, Glasnow was the matching roster move. The Dodgers did not formally disclose said change until 5:07 p.m. PT, or eight minutes before the game began.

A few of our guys are just not feeling well, Roberts stated earlier on Friday in an interview with MLB Network. Bobby was someone we wanted to keep back in case we needed him.

Bobby is Bobby Miller, who was not included in the starting lineup for his Triple-A team on Thursday in order to allow the Dodgers to play this weekend. Miller is now in contention to make his Saturday debut.

On Friday at Busch Stadium, however, Roberts’ pregame press conference was a complete shambles since the team was still mulling over their options.

Following multiple references to Glasnow and the possibility of requiring covering on Saturday, when Glasnow was scheduled, MLB.com’s Juan Toribio inquired, “Right now you have Glasnow starting.” Is there a possibility he doesn’t begin work tomorrow?

Roberts declared, “I think everything is on the table.” However, we anticipate that he will begin work tomorrow.

Dave Roberts gives an update on Yoshinobu Yamamoto and discusses Justin Wrobleski’s start tonight.

Glasnow won’t be making that start now that he’s on the injured list, and it’s unclear how long the elbow tendonitis will keep him out.

The Dodgers’ best pitcher, Tyler Glasnow, with a 3.49 ERA in 22 starts, 168 strikeouts, and a 32.2 strikeout percentage. With 134 innings, he has already broken his big league career high, which he set in 2017 with 155⅓ innings threw in both the majors and minors.

Roberts expanded on the pregame caginess after the game.

According to Dave Roberts, the Dodgers were holding off until Tyler Glasnow’s scan results were in. The tendonitis was disclosed. Although Roberts stated he would have “been on pins and needles” watching it, Glasnow pushed for it to begin in any case.

After spending 15 days on the IL, they are optimistic he can return.

— @FabianArdaya, Fabian Ardaya August 17, 2024 Well before Glasnow was injured, Wrobleski was scheduled to start this game. With his Friday start, the Dodgers’ other five starters would have five days off before their next outing.

After pitching in Oklahoma City last Saturday, Wrobleski is taking a five-day break in St. Louis. Since being optioned to Triple-A on July 31, the left-hander has frequently worn the number five. He had two starts for Oklahoma City in which he allowed five hits, five walks, and five strikeouts.

Wrobleski made his first four major league starts for the Dodgers in July. In his 20 innings, he only walked seven batters while striking out 15 and walking seven. His ERA was 4.05.

This should set off a series of roster changes for the Dodgers this coming weekend. If Miller starts in lieu of Glasnow, he will also need to be activated. On Saturday, Ryan Brasier is anticipated to be activated to join the bullpen.
