Sad News: Following the death of one man in the community, police have detained two men in Glasgow

GLASGOW, Ky. (WBKO) – One person is injured after an accident involving a vehicle and a motorcycle took place yesterday in Glasgow.

 

On June 17, the Glasgow Police Department responded to reports of an injury accident at the intersection of Cleveland Avenue and Sorenson Avenue.

 

Officers determined that a 2020 Harley Davidson driven by Joshua Walters was struck by Maria Houchens-Granados’s 2017 Ford Fusion after she looked down at her cellphone while traveling on Cleveland Avenue. She failed to see Walters attempting to make a right turn onto Sorenson Avenue, causing the collision. Walters was ejected from his motorcycle as a result.

 

It was determined that Walters was not wearing a helmet. He was treated by the Barren/Metcalfe EMS and transported to T.J. Samson Hospital.

 

Maria Houchens-Granados was not injured. She was cited for driving motor vehicle using hand-held mobile telephone.

 

Joshua Walters was cited for no/expired Kentucky registration plate, no/expired Kentucky registration receipt, failure of owner to maintain required insurance, first offense.

 

The accident was investigated by Officer Alex Mutter, who was assisted by the Glasgow Fire Department and the Barren/Metcalfe EMS.
