Robin is one of 3 guitarists who inspired me to start playing back in 1977. I (finally) saw him twice during the 2010s, and he still had the touch. A personal hero and a legend.
Sadly, Robin has canceled his U.S. tour because of serious health issues. He’s 79, and needs a major operation. Doctors have advised him that it may be a very long time until he’s able to get back on the road. Given his age and his health, the chances of that happening are almost zero. If we’re lucky he will release more studio work, but that doesn’t seem very likely either.
Whatever happens, I wish him well, and I’m grateful for 50+ years of soulful, unique, and inspiring music
