Two friends were visiting the beachside town when a stranger opened their car door.
A woman has been sexually assaulte while sleeping in a car in a popular tourist town on Western Australia’s south coast.
The woman was travelling WA with a friend and had set up camp in a carpark at Twilight Beach, Esperance on Saturday.
“Sometime during the night, an unknown person opened the door of the vehicle and sexually assaulted one of the women,” police said.
The offender left the area in a vehicle but no description is available of either the car or attacker.
Sexual Assault Squad detectives are appealing for information and asking for anyone who was in the area at the time to call police.
