Quinn Ewers Sends Head-Turning Message to Ohio State After Texas’s Big Win Over Michigan

The Texas QB was happy to help out his former school with a win over their rival.

Texas quarterback Quinn Ewers was all smiles after doing Ohio State a favor by leading his team to a dominant victory over Michigan on Saturday.

Ewers led the charge, passing for 246 yards and three touchdowns. After dismantling Michigan, the Longhorns star started his career at Ohio State and had a message for the Buckeyes.

“I understand the rivalry Ohio State has with Michigan. To carry that along through the week, and again, I understand how it goes,” Ewers said. “It’s definitely cool coming back here because it didn’t end up going the way of the team I was on.”

The game Ewers is referencing occurred during his lone year with the Buckeyes in 2021. Michigan trounced Ohio State 42-27. Ewers didn’t play but got an up-close look at the rivalry.

Ewers has turned into a star after transferring to Texas. He’s firmly in the Heisman race after passing for 506 yards and six touchdowns through two games.

“I think there’s something about Quinn and his demeanor. He’s a very calm and collected,” Texas coach Steve Sarkisian said after the win. “He never rides the emotional roller coaster. You’ll see glimpses of him celebrating a touchdown, but he’s never over-the-top exuberant. When things aren’t going great, you never see him get down. He stays pretty even-keeled and that demeanor helps him in these environments.”

Ohio State hasn’t beaten Michigan since 2019. The rivals are set to clash on November 30 in the regular season finale for both squads.
