Tributes paid to Hull radio DJ Carl Kingston following his death aged 69

Sadly, a radio DJ from Hull whose voice has become well-known throughout Yorkshire, Lincolnshire, and beyond passed away. Radio Today announced Carl Kingston’s death at the age of 69. Throughout airing, friends and fans expressed their sadness at the news.

 

The former Viking FM and BBC Radio Humberside DJ, who had worked on numerous radio stations in the UK and abroad, passed away, according to Radio Today, following a brief illness. Carl most recently participated in a special broadcast for Radio Caroline’s 60th anniversary. Carl was a broadcaster on Grimsby’s own local radio station, Mariner FM, in the 1990s.

Carl was an international club DJ who shared photos of his travels to many different nations on social media. At the age of 19, he signed his first foreign deal in Norway.

Carl truly took care of individuals and helped a lot of folks get into the radio industry. He also always got us bacon sandwiches on Saturdays at six in the morning!
