Plymouth road sealed off after woman and child killed in crash

In Plymouth, a woman and her child perished after being struck by a car. Pictured at the scene of a serious incident in Plymouth earlier today (Sunday, March 24) are police and forensics investigators. Two persons died in the crash. Pictures from the horrific tragedy at Victoria Road in St. Budeaux, on the A38, when police were called at 9:45 a.m. this morning due to reports of a car and pedestrian collision. Sadly, a woman and a small daughter passed away from their wounds in spite of the efforts of rescue responders. An old woman has been taken into custody on suspicion of driving while intoxicated or under the influence of narcotics, as well as of causing death by reckless driving. “Emergency services were called at approximately 9.45am today, Sunday, 24 March, to a report of a collision involving a car and two pedestrians on Victoria Road, Plymouth,” a Devon and Cornwall Police spokeswoman stated. “An ambulance arrived to transport a woman and a young daughter to the hospital after they both suffered significant injuries. They have both subsequently passed away, and the police have been notified. We’ve notified their next of kin.
