Man indicted in death of kayaker killed on Percy Priest lake

Tennessee’s NASHVILLE (WMSV) – Regarding the kayaker who was struck and killed by a boat at Percy Priest Lake last year, an arrest has been made. A grand jury in Davison County indicted Walter Colson, 61, on one count each of reckless boating, reckless endangerment with a deadly weapon, reckless aggravated assault, and reckless vehicular homicide. An arrest document claims that on May 9, during his arrest, he reportedly yanked his arms away from the cops and uttered the words, “I ain’t going with you today.” In addition, he was accused of resisting arrest. Colson is accused of Jaidha Lindsay’s killing on April 29, when she was struck by a kayak on Percy Priest Lake and died as a result. The Tennessee report claims that she was not donning a life jacket.

According to Colson’s indictment, Lindsay died as a result of his careless or dangerous boat operation. He was given a bond and released. His court date is July 17. Murfreesboro resident Lindsay, 24, was well-known for changing her community.
