Maine couple killed in crash were active volunteers in community

LEWISTON (WGME) — There are new details in a deadly crash that killed three people, and a dog in Lewiston last week.

The head-on crash happened last Wednesday on Lisbon Street.

Police told CBS 13 they’re still working on their report but say 34-year-old John McBean, Jr. appears to be at fault.

The crash killed McBean and two beloved Brunswick residents, 68-year-old Paul Dalessandro and his wife 68-year-old Judith Montgomery.

The Midcoast couple was devoted to community service.

Judy was a head farmer at Merrymeeting Gleaners, and along with her husband, worked with Tedford Housing and the Midcoast Hunger Prevention Program.

Their dog, Sparrow, also died in the crash and had been recently rescued.
