SAD NEWS: Bicyclist dies after being struck under Alamo overpass in Walnut Creek after…

A collision between a vehicle and bicyclist under an Interstate Highway 680 overpass near Walnut Creek left the cyclist dead Wednesday morning, according to the California Highway Patrol.

A press release issued by the Contra Costa County office of the CHP said at approximately 11:12 a.m., officers were advised of a vehicle vs. bicyclist crash on Livorna Road under the I-680 in Alamo.
CHP said an adult female bicyclist traveling westbound on Livorna Road was struck a black Toyota bZ3X that had been parked along the right shoulder of westbound Livorna Road when the adult male drove into the roadway and crashed into the approaching bicyclist.

CHP arrived on scene along with other emergency responders to assist. The bicyclist sustained fatal injuries as a result of this crash and was pronounced deceased on scene. The driver of the Toyota was not injured.
