Big rig crashes into vehicle and traffic light in Sacramento County

FOX40.COM) — The California Highway Patrol advised drivers to expect traffic delays as they investigate a big rig that crashed in Sacramento County.

Around 4 p.m. Tuesday, CHP said a big rig logging truck crashed into a vehicle and traffic light on Hazel Avenue at Oak Avenue. The traffic signal light for northbound traffic was knocked down. Only minor injuries were reported to the involved parties, according to CHP.

Officials said the intersection is open, but to expect delays. The northbound slow lane of Hazel Avenue, north of the intersection, will be blocked for about two hours. CHP said the Sacramento County Department of Transportation is at the scene attempting to repair the traffic light. If possible, drivers are advised by law enforcement to avoid the area and use Sunrise Boulevard or alternate routes.
