Evacuations were underway after a gas leak Thursday night in Walnut Creek, the Contra Costa County Fire Protection District told KRON4. Fire crews responded to 50 Tahoe Court at around 8:32 p.m.
Officials did not say how many residents were evacuated. A roughly two-inch gas line was ruptured in the Walnut Creek neighborhood, the fire department said.
KRON4 was at the scene. As of 10 p.m., the scene has been cleared, and one PG&E truck remained in the area. The smell of gas was still apparent in the area.
