Wolf killed in Washington state for preying on cattle

SPOKANE, Wash. — The Washington Department of Fish and Wildlife has announced that an adult male wolf was killed last week in Columbia County.

Monday’s announcement drew criticism from wildlife advocates who say that endangered wolves should not be slain for preying on livestock.

The agency says the wolf was killed last Thursday in an area of new wolf-pack activity in the southeast corner of the state. The department is authorized to kill another wolf from this newly formed pack by Dec. 10.

The agency believes there are four adults and four pups in this new pack and said they have been preying on cattle since August.

HOUSTON (TNND) — Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) officials in Houston announced Friday the arrest of an illegal Honduran migrant wanted for murder in his home country.

Fredy Rufino Aguilar-Hernandez, 38, entered the U.S. through Atlanta, Georgia as a “nonimmigrant,” according to ICE. He was allowed to remain in the country until March of 2019, but did not depart by that date.

Enforcement and Removal Operations (ERO) agents say they were notified by ICE in January 2019 Aguilar-Hernandez was wanted for murder in Honduras. ERO responded by immediately “actively working leads to locate him.”
