A devastating plane crash in rural Alabama has claimed the lives of at least 20 people, authorities confirmed.
The crash occurred around 11:45 AM CST on today in the vicinity of approximately 20 miles northwest of Tuscaloosa Regional Airport.
Emergency responders from the Tuscaloosa County Sheriff’s Office, Alabama State Troopers, and local fire departments rushed to the scene.
“We’re working tirelessly to recover and identify the victims,” said Tuscaloosa County Sheriff,
Authorities have not released the names of the victims pending notification of next-of-kin.
The National Transportation Safety Board (NTSB) and Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) are leading the investigation.
