Norridgewock crash leaves 2 dead, including Madison man, officials say
NORRIDGEWOCK, Maine —
Maine authorities say a Madison man is one of two people who died in a crash on Route 201A in Norridgewock.
The Somerset County Sheriff’s Office said it responded to the single vehicle crash shortly after 7:15 a.m. Monday.
According to investigators, a 2008 Chevrolet Impala sedan was traveling south on Route 201A, also known as Madison Road, when the driver lost control of the car near the intersection of Father Rasle Road.
Officials said the car went off the right side of the roadway and struck a utility pole before crashing into several trees.
The driver, 31-year-old Kyle Wyman, was pronounced dead at the scene.
The sheriff’s office said a female passenger also died of injuries she suffered in the crash. The victim’s identity is not being shared at this time as authorities work to notify her next of kin.
Wyman and the female passenger were not wearing seat belts at the time of the crash, officials said.
