THP: Teen driver killed after crashing into bear in Campbell County
CAMPBELL COUNTY, Tenn. (WATE) — One teenager was killed and another was injured Saturday in Campbell County after a car crash involving a bear, according to the Tennessee Highway Patrol.
According to a preliminary THP report, a 16-year-old was driving a pickup truck in the 6900 block of Stinking Creek Road on Nov. 23 around 8 p.m. when the crash occurred.
An incident narrative included in the report said the bear crossed in front of the truck from the east side of the road. The car’s front bumper struck the bear before coming to an “uncontrolled final rest out of the roadway.”
