Four dead in Buckingham County crash outside of Farmville

FARMVILLE, VA (CVILLE RIGHT NOW) – State Police are trying to determine what caused a crash on Route 15 in Buckingham County just outside Farmville that killed four people late Tuesday morning. The crash happened around 11:45 Tuesday morning at the intersection of 15 and Hartwell Lane… and State Police along with Buckingham Department of Emergency Services and volunteer fire companies in Dillwyn and Toga responded.

State Police say a southbound Ford Fusion crossed the center line and struck a northbound Ford T350, continued north in the wrong lane, and struck a southbound Nissan Versa head-on. The Nissan then ran off the road and overturned.

The Ford T350 driver was not hurt… but the 77-year old Fusion driver, Erika Henshaw of Dillwyn and 85-year old passenger Alvin Henshaw died in the crash. The Versa driver, 66-year old Runping Rhett of Alton and 37-year old passenger Eric Truscott also died at the scene.
