The Arizona State Sun Devils and Texas Longhorns face off against each other on Wednesday in the second round of the College Football Playoff. This is Arizona’s first game in the newly expanded format, and the second for Texas after beating Clemson 38-14 in the first round. The game will feature a lot of high-level talent, including the quarterbacks of each side, Sam Leavitt for the Sun Devils and Quinn Ewers for Texas. During a press conference on Saturday, Leavitt was asked about the idea of playing Ewers, and his answer was telling. “I’ve watched him for a fair amount of time now,” he said. In 2024, he completed 192-of-304 passes for 2,663 yards, 24 touchdowns, five interceptions and a 159.5 passing efficiency rating. On the other hand, Ewers completed 250-of-376 passes for 2,867 yards, 26 touchdowns, and 10 interceptions while having a 148 passing efficiency rating
