Breaking News: Pittsburgh Steelers Head coach has been fired due to his inability to…
Pittsburgh Steelers offensive coordinator Arthur Smith will not be the Chicago Bears’ next head coach after they finalized a deal with Detroit Lions offensive coordinator Ben Johnson. Johnson will work with quarterback Caleb Williams to try and progress the Bears from last place in the NFC North.
Meanwhile, the Steelers will still have Smith on their staff. He interviewed for the head coaching positions with hte Bears and New York Jets. They could still lose Smith to the Jets’ job.
Smith did help the Steelers offense improve in some areas with two different quarterbacks, and that has helped his reputation among the NFL. It all comes after three unsuccessful seasons in Atlanta when Smith was fired. He had three consecutive losing seasons, going 7-10 in the final season of his tenure with the Falcons.
Smith’s most successful expenditure in the NFL remains his stint as the offensive coordinator of the Tennessee Titans. With Derrick Henry and A.J. Brown, the Titans were able to soar offensively, and that stint allowed Smith to become a hot head coaching candidate.
