Eagles Poach $2 Million Vikings Pass-Catcher for Super Bowl Run
After three seasons with the Minnesota Vikings, tight end Nick Muse has a chance to contend for a championship. Between the Vikings’ practice squad and active roster his whole career, Muse has never sniffed an NFC title game in Minnesota. Now, he could get a ring if all goes according to plan Sunday. Muse signed to the Philadelphia Eagles practice squad on Wednesday, Jan. 22, ahead of the NFC title game against the Washington Commanders. The former 2022 seventh-round pick has appeared in 16 games in his career and caught his lone career target for 22 yards. Throughout 20 roster moves during his career, Muse has made $2.3 million in his career. Touted for his combination of size and speed, Muse arrives to a Philadelphia organization that is dealing with some questions at the tight end position. Grant Calcaterra assumed the starting role when Goedert missed time during the regular season and will be central to the Eagles’ offensive plans. If Goedert can’t go, there doesn’t seem to be trust in E.J. Jenkins, who has played just four snaps in two postseason games. It’d be a long shot for Muse to learn the playbook in less than four days, but there is a possibility he sees the field in the postseason. Muse will be a free agent again in a matter of months and could re-sign with the Vikings, but for now, he’s getting a look at his future outside of Minnesota.
