UPDATE (6:39 p.m.): An FBI spokesperson released a statement regarding an agent-involved shooting that resulted in the death of a subject of a federal search warrant.

The FBI is investigating an agent-involved shooting, which occurred this afternoon on Colonial Parkway (County Road 6) in Gulf Shores, AL,” FBI spokesman Tommy Loftis said. “During an attempt to serve arrest and search warrants, the FBI SWAT team encountered and shot the armed subject who is now deceased. The FBI takes all shooting incidents involving our agents or task force members seriously. In accordance with FBI policy the shooting incident is under review by the FBI inspection division. As this is an ongoing matter we have no further details to provide.”
