Sad news: Teenager killed in Mill Hill
Detectives are questioning 10 young men and a woman over the suspected gang murder of a troubled teenager in north-west London.
Marvin Henry, 17, suffered fatal injuries to his chest when rival gangs clashed on an estate in Mill Hill.
Witnesses who heard up to three gunshots said they saw him being dragged along the street by friends screaming for help in the early hours of Wednesday. Investigators suspect more than a dozen young people had gathered with weapons in the area to fight over a long-running petty row in the neighbourhood.
The teenager, known as Spooky, was taken to Barnet General Hospital by ambulance but died on arrival from a wound to his torso.
Marvin, who was known to police, had recently left a referral unit designed to help expelled pupils get back into mainstream education.
Some friends described him as a cheerful and friendly teenager who enjoyed playing football and rap music. They said his large family had moved from a “bad area” about three years ago for a “better life”.

But others left messages on social networking sites referring to him as a “fallen soldier” and warning of revenge attacks.
His older brother Lloyd Henry, 23, and half brother Andre Campbell, 27, are serving jail sentences for killing 19-year-old Ian Page in Edgware Road, in November 2006.
Tributes were left by relatives and friends at the side of the road near to where Marvin was treated by paramedics. A large crowd of people gathered outside Marvin’s family home, less than half a mile from the scene of the murder, to console his mother Lynette Campbell.
Ann Jordan, 58, who used to be a neighbour, said: “He was a very nice boy. It’s shocking, it’s disgusting and it’s got to stop.”
