Just now: Mill Hill Road crash in Franklin County leaves one dead, one injured

A fatal crash occurred on December 8, 2024, at 11:12 p.m. on Mill Hill Road east of Bethel Church Road in Franklin County, Missouri.

According to the Missouri State Highway Patrol, a 2008 Mazda 6 was traveling eastbound at an unsafe speed on a curved, wet roadway. The vehicle slid across the center of the road, left the roadway, and overturned in a cornfield, ejecting both the driver and passenger.

The driver, a 32-year-old man from Robertsville, Missouri, was not wearing a seat belt and was pronounced deceased at the scene by EMS personnel at 11:40 p.m. His body was transported by the medical examiner to the St. Louis County Morgue.

The passenger, a 20-year-old woman also from Robertsville, Missouri, sustained serious injuries. She was not wearing a seat belt and was transported to Mercy Hospital St. Louis by St. Clair EMS.

The vehicle sustained total damage and was towed by Vogelgesang’s Towing. The crash was investigated with assistance from the Major Crash Investigation Unit and additional officers.
