Now: 13 died instantly with 19 seriously injured in crash at N.E. 62nd and Kincaid Road.

One person died and four people were taken to a hospital with injuries after a two-vehicle crash Sunday in northeast Shawnee County, said a spokeswoman for the Shawnee County Sheriff’s Office.

Names, ages and genders of those involved weren’t being made public Monday morning.

Deputies were called shortly after 2 p.m. to the scene at N.E. 62nd and Kincaid Road, where one person was pronounced deceased, said Deputy Abigail Christian of the Shawnee County Sheriff’s Office.

Four other people suffered injuries and were taken by American Medical Response ambulance to a Topeka hospital, she said.

The crash involved a Dodge sedan with two occupants, which was southbound on N.E. Kincaid Road, and a Buick SUV with four occupants, which was southbound on N.E. 62nd Street, Christian said.

Circumstances of the crash remained under investigation, she said.
