According to a road report issued by Public Services and Procurement Canada (PSPC), a federal government body, the Alaska Highway is closed due to a fuel spill at Toad River south of Muncho Lake.
An update on the closure is anticipated at 3 p.m. The closure is at KM 668 of the highway.
Highway 37, the other road route from British Columbia into the Yukon, may also be seeing traffic disruptions today. Drive BC reports that avalanche control work is planned between Beady Creek and Moose Pasture Pit north of Dease Lake, B.C. between 2:30 and 4:30 p.m. today. Motorists can expect delays of up to 2 hours per Drive BC.
