Three days after a teen was shot in the parking lot of a Greenville church, deputies arrested two teen suspects in his death.
According to the Greenville County Sheriff’s Office’s Lt. Ryan Flood, a 16- and 15-year-old were accused in the shooting death of 16-year-old Hans “Jaiden” Thompson. The names of the teens, charged as juveniles, were not made public.
Both teens were charged with murder, possession of a weapon during a violent crime, armed robbery, criminal conspiracy, and possession of a firearm by a minor.
Deputies arrested the 16-year-old on April 14 and arrested the 15-year-old on April 15 at Traveler’s Rest High School.
At about 8 p.m. on April 12, the GCSO said Thompson and the teens met in the parking lot of Saint Mark United Methodist Church on North Franklin Road.
Flood said the two teens shot and robbed Thompson before fleeing. According to the Greenville County Coroner’s Office, emergency responders took Thompson to Prisma Greenville Memorial Hospital, where he died about a hour later.
Flood said through leads, investigators identified the teen suspects.
The teens were being held at the Juvenile Detention Facility in Columbia, pending proceedings at Greenville County Family Court.
