
A pedestrian died after being hit by a Freightliner tanker truck in the Myrtle Beach area early Thursday, April 10, according to the South Carolina Highway Patrol.
Cpl. Nick Pye with the SCHP said the crash happened about 5:50 a.m. on U.S. 501 near Legends Drive.
A 2025 Freightliner tanker truck was traveling south on U.S. 501 when it struck a pedestrian in the roadway, Pye said.
SCHP is investigating.
The Horry County Coroner’s Office has not released the name of the pedestrian at this time.
