
ROGERSVILLE — A Rogersville man pointed an “assault style rifle” at his wife Thursday night during a domestic dispute, according to police, then barricaded himself in a bathroom, leading to an hour-long standoff before he was arrested.
As of Friday, Darrin Hugh Hensley, 25, 601 Douglas Drive, was being held in the Hawkins County Jail without bond pending arraignment set for Monday in Sessions Court.
Shortly after 10:30 p.m. Thursday, Rogersville police responded to Hensley’s residence on a report of a man with a gun.
Rogersville Police Department Detective Charlie Gibson told the Times News Friday that when officers arrived on the scene, they spoke to Hensley’s wife, who stated that Hensley had been drinking and had pointed a rifle at her.
