
In a tragic occurrence in Mumbai’s Vikhroli district, a 26-year-old man was killed when a tree fell on him while he was standing with his friends at Ganesh Maidan. This sad tragedy in Vikhroli has undoubtedly made people more careful and sensitive to the threatening weather. According to reports, the tree that fell on the victim’s head was old and had weakend roots. The tree could not retain its position and fell on the deceased man’s head due to the heavy rains and thunderstorms that had been occurring since Monday morning.
The 26-year-old man who died has been identified as Tejas Naidu from Vikhroli. Tejas was reportedly standing on the road, observing the weather during Mumbai’s first monsoon shower. With the strong winds blowing over the city, the tree was unable to retain its position and crashed on Tejas’ head.
As soon as Tejas got hit by the tree, people who were present at the scene immediately rushed him to the nearby Godrej hospital in Vikhroli. However, he was declared dead by the doctors at the hospital as soon as they reached there.
The old tree that fell on Tejas’ head had weakening roots and could have fallen at any time. The severe monsoon rainfall and winds exacerbated the issue, and it collapsed while Tejas was standing just beneath it.
