Due to an ACL tear, Hornets star Grant Williams will miss the remainder of the 2024–25 NBA season.

After suffering an ACL injury during the Charlotte Hornets’ 125-119 loss to the Milwaukee Bucks over the weekend, forward Grant Williams will be sidelined for the remainder of the 2024–25 NBA season.

Late in the fourth quarter of the Bucks game, Williams sustained the injury. His knee gave out as he was driving to the hoop and collided with Brook Lopez. After getting up on his own, the six-year NBA veteran required assistance to get to the locker room.

Williams’ injury was verified by the Hornets on Sunday.

Last season, Williams was traded to Charlotte by the Dallas Mavericks. He averaged 10.3 points, 5.1 rebounds, 2.3 assists, and 1.1 steals per game while playing in 16 games, including seven starts, in 2024–25.

The Hornets are already thin in the front court, so Williams’ injury puts them in a difficult position. They have forward Miles Bridges still recovering from a bone bruise that kept him out since November 19, while centers Mark Williams and Nick Richards are nursing injuries.

Tidjane Salaun, a rookie selected sixth overall in the 2024 NBA Draft, is currently anticipated to be Charlotte’s next option. Despite just averaging 16 minutes per game thus far, the French attacker displayed fascinating bursts of talent.

With a 6-10 record, the Hornets are now ranked 12th in the East.
