BREAKING NEWS: MANCHESTER UNITED THE CODE DECIDED TO SELL ONE OF THE BEST PLAYER DUE TO….

After becoming a free agent, Marcos Alonso has expressed interest in joining Manchester United and has told journalist Fabrizio Romano of GIVEMESPORT that he ‘would love’ to join them.

Even if the contracts for defenders Matthijs de Ligt, Noussair Mazraoui, and Leny Yoro have been confirmed, the Red Devils may still add a defender before the transfer window closes on August 30.

Alonso, who Xavi Hernandez called a “extraordinary” purchase for Barcelona, is reportedly being considered by the Premier League’s biggest teams, according to Romano. Alonso would be happy to move to Old Trafford.

After leaving their respective teams at the end of the previous season—Alonso leaving Barcelona two years after joining from Chelsea—both defenders are available on a free transfer.

Luke Shaw and Tyrell Malacia are both out of United’s Premier League opener against Fulham on Friday, but Erik ten Hag is still keen to solve the troublesome left-back position.

Romano claims United “will take some time” to decide on their next defensive addition because they are now more focused on adding a new midfield player.

Alonso “Would Love” to Return to Old Trafford
Red Devils have not yet made any progress toward acquiring Barcelona left-back Marcos Alonso, 33.
Speaking to GMS, Romano revealed that Alonso is still on the shortlist of defensive targets and has been presented to Manchester United prior to the transfer window closing:

“Marcos Alonso is very interested in joining Manchester United.” Manchester United has made an offer for him in recent weeks, but nothing truly solid or developed has happened as of yet.

“I believe Manchester United will save money, save their budget, and put their best effort into a midfield deal before determining who the player is that they really want to cover that position.”

“The plan is to make it happen as the next step in the summer transfer window. They need a new midfielder.”

Romano claims that even though the Parisians’ asking price is still too high, midfielder Manuel Ugarte of Paris Saint-Germain is still “top of the list” for Manchester United’s midfield targets this summer. Ugarte is “in love” with the notion of moving to Old Trafford.

At the end of the previous season, Alonso’s two-year contract with Barcelona expired, and he is now free to sign with any team.

The 33-year-old, who spent three months of the previous season sidelined by a back ailment and made just eight appearances in all competitions under former manager Xavi, did not receive a contract extension offer from the Catalans.
