Breaking News: Popular guitarist reveals why he won’t play with his iconic rock band on stage this year

Guitarist Brad Delson is very much a part of the rebirth of Linkin Park; it’s just not during live performances.

In a new interview with Guitar World, Delson, 47, explained why he elected to stick with the band only from a studio recording aspect. It all comes down to each remaining member finding the place where they excelled the most.

“For me, and, I guess, all the guys, the last however many years gave us the opportunity to really think qualitatively about the band – what energizes us, where we feel most fulfilled, and where we thrive,” Delson explained.

“I really thrive in the studio. I love making new things. That’s why I decided to focus my energy on that area.”

Linkin Park announced its return in September 2024 with its first album, “From Zero,” since the death of co-vocalist Chester Bennington in 2017.

Emily Armstrong of Dead Sara joined as a co-vocalist. Colin Brittain also joined the band on drums, replacing longtime drummer Rob Bourdon. Delson plays guitar on all of the “From Zero” tracks and was involved in the recording process, but Alex Feder will handle guitaring duties from the performance side.
