CHICAGO — Jason Benetti didn’t know what to do with his hands.
Over the last five months, Benetti had steeled himself for a return to the South Side. The baseball schedule-makers, obviously seizing on this juicy narrative, scheduled his first game as the voice of the Detroit Tigers for Opening Day at Guaranteed Rate Field, where he toiled for eight seasons as the play-by-play man for his boyhood team, the White Sox.
