Florida is adding a well-traveled quarterback to its 2025 roster.

Harrison Bailey took to social media to announce his plans to continue his college career with the Gators.

Bailey is entering his final season of college football eligibility. His previous stops include Louisville, UNLV and Tennessee. Over 5 seasons, Bailey is 108-of-171 passing (63.2% complete) for 1,190 yards, 10 touchdowns and 3 interceptions.

This past season at Louisville, Bailey was 24-of-33 for 227 yards and 3 touchdowns. All 3 TD passes came in the Sun Bowl win over Washington, in which Bailey was 16-of-25 for 164 yards.

Bailey only threw 5 passes during the 2023 season, his first at Louisville. He spent the 2022 season at UNLV, going 30-of-58 for 318 yards, 2 touchdowns and 1 interception.

Bailey began his college career as a Florida rival. Out of Marietta (Georgia) High School, he was rated the No. 3 pro-style quarterback and No. 99 prospect overall on the 247Sports Composite in the Class of 2020. Bailey signed to play for Jeremy Pruitt at Tennessee.

Bailey threw the most attempts of his career in 2020 as a true freshman, going 48-of-68 for 578 yards, 4 touchdowns and 2 interceptions. He remained at UT in 2021 after the coaching change, but transferred out after limited playing time.

Florida has been looking to add to its QB depth for the 2025 season. DJ Lagway settled into the starting job after Graham Mertz was lost for the 2024 season due to injury.

Lagway played in 12 games as a true freshman, making 7 starts. He completed 59.9% of his passes for 1,915 yards, 12 touchdowns and 9 interceptions. Lagway was recognized as a Freshman All-American by ESPN and other outlets and was named MVP for Florida’s win over Tulane in the Gasparilla Bowl.

While there’s plenty of excitement around Lagway as QB1, depth at the position needed addressing. Lagway was injured in the loss to Georgia and missed the game at Texas. Yale transfer Aidan Warner, a preferred walk-on, struggled filling in for Lagway.

In December, Florida signed Tramell Jones Jr., a 4-star 2025 QB prospect on the 247Sports Composite. The addition of Bailey gives Billy Napier a scholarship quarterback with experience.
