Notre Dame continues to receive bad news ahead of the upcoming season; Is Marcus Freeman ready to get off the boat?

What a huge blow Notre Dame has suffered on its way to next season, a blow that takes away from this great project that is doing things right.

Chad Bowden, has made the decision to turn his back on the team and move to Southern California with USC. What a blow to the loyal fans and cognoscenti who see this as a huge betrayal.

The economic factor was one of the main reasons for Chad to pack his bags and leave. A pretty big blow to the project, but if we can look on the bright side, there is still time for Notre Dame to get another General Manager in their own time and in their own way.

But clearly the one who gets the worst of it is Notre Dame’s head coach, Marcus Freeman, which will certainly not come as a surprise to him as he is already used to dealing with these problems

Opinions divided on Bowden’s departure

In a chat on Josh Pate’s College Football Show, Sean Burke asked the host about these moves in the Notre Dame environment, and Pate had no problem confessing his thoughts on the whole thing:

“The right logo on your polo can make you a lot better, and when you walk out the door, sometimes that’s the big measure of how effective you really are. When you leave a big program, are you still producing the same results as when you were there?” the host commented.

Chad, the former Notre Dame general manager, is now at USC on a contract worth more than $1 million a year. A big jump from the previous $300,000. This son of MLB’s Jim Bowden strengthens the Trojans.
