One person dead following two-vehicle crash in Maine

– One person is dead following a fatal motor vehicle accident in Lincoln Saturday morning.

The Lincoln Police Department reportedly responded to the intersection of Route 6 and Buena Vista Drive just before 10:30 a.m. for a two-vehicle accident.

Upon arrival, officers determined that a passenger in one of the vehicles was deceased after receiving fatal injuries.

Police say the driver of that same vehicle refused medical treatment at the scene, and the operator of the second vehicle was taken to Penobscot Valley Hospital for non-life threatening injuries.

The accident is being reconstructed with the help of the Maine State Police and the Bangor Police Department, but an initial investigation shows that road conditions may have been a contributing factor in the crash.

Police are asking drivers to be mindful of black ice when traveling.

The Lincoln Police Department was also assisted by Lincoln Fire and Ambulance, the Maine Wardens Service and Lincoln Public Works.
