A head-on crash in Fultondale Tuesday morning left two people dead and two others injured, including an infant.
The wreck happened about 8 a.m. on Carson Road near Indian Valley Road, said Chief D.P. Smith.
An adult female was pronounced dead on the scene. The driver of the other vehicle died at UAB Hospital.
One other person in her vehicle and a passenger from the other vehicle were taken to area hospitals.
One of the victims is an infant, Smith said. The extent of the surviving victims’ injuries wasn’t immediately known.
Fultondale police and the Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office traffic crash reconstruction team are on the scene investigating.
