Just Now:7 die in WY plane crash, including members of family Gospel music group The Nelons

GILLETTE, Wyoming – Yesterday, July 26, three members of the family gospel singing group The Nelons perished in an aircraft crash north of Gillette, close to the Montana–Wyoming border. A statement from the family’s management company, Gaither Music, states that four other people perished in the crash, including Amber’s husband Nathan Kistler, assistant Melodi Hodges, pilot Larry Haynie, and his wife Melissa. Jason and Kelly Nelon Clark also lost their oldest daughter, Amber Kistler. Autumn Nelon Streetman, the youngest daughter of Jason and Kelly, was not on the plane and reached Seattle safely with her spouse Jamie. It was there that they learned about the accident. Autumn is the fourth member of the band.

Gaither Music reports that Autumn and her husband were escorted to the hotel where Bill and Gloria Gaither and other artists got together “to pray, sing and embrace them in their grief, pledging to support them in whatever needs arise”. Along with the following statement from Gaither Music, Autumn Nelon Streetman published her own statement regarding the deaths of her family members: “As a lot of you have probably already heard, our good friends Melodi Hodges, Larry, and Melissa Haynie, as well as my sister Amber and brother-in-law Nathan, were all involved in a horrible plane crash on Friday. I appreciate all of the prayers that have already been said for me, my spouse, Jamie, and our unborn child.

According to Gaither Music, Bill and Gloria Gaither, along with other artists, were escorted to the hotel where Autumn and her husband were met “to pray, sing, and embrace them in their grief, pledging to support them in whatever needs arise”. “As many of you have probably already heard, our good friends Melodi Hodges, Larry, and Melissa Haynie, as well as my sister Amber and brother-in-law Nathan, were all involved in a horrible plane crash on Friday,” said Autumn Nelon Streetman in addition to the statement released by Gaither Music. Thank you to everyone who has already prayed for Jamie, myself, my partner, and our unborn kid.
