West Yellowstone, MT – Tragedy struck Yellowstone National Park when two women were fatally attacked by a wild animal.

On [today], at approximately 8:30 AM, park rangers responded to a distress call near the park’s Old Faithful area. Upon arrival, they discovered the bodies of two adult females, identified as:
1. Sarah Taylor, 35, of Denver, CO
2. Emily Patel, 28, of San Francisco, CA
*INVESTIGATION UNDERWAY*
National Park Service (NPS) and local authorities are leading the investigation.
“We’re working to determine the type of animal responsible and circumstances surrounding the attack,” said Yellowstone National Park Chief Ranger, Peter Visnesky.
*WITNESS ACCOUNTS*
A park visitor reported hearing screams and seeing a large animal fleeing the area.
“I was about 300 yards away, but it sounded like someone was in distress,” said witness Mark Davis
