Tragedy Eureka Springs man killed, woman hurt in accident in rural Carroll County

One Eureka Springs resident was killed and another injured in a one-vehicle accident Wednesday afternoon in rural Carroll County.

Darin Lee Workman, 55, of Eureka Springs was a passenger in a 1994 Oldsmobile driven by Shanea Lynn Niblett, 37, also of Eureka Springs as it was heading south on Arkansas 23 around 3:30 p.m., according to a report from the Arkansas State Police. Niblett lost control of the Oldsmobile as it was taking a left curve, and the vehicle drove off the right side of the roadway. It overturned and then came to a rest upside-down about 50 feet from the roadway.

 

Workman died in the accident, accorrding to the report. Niblett was taken to Washington Regional Medical Center in Fayetteville, and the extent of her injuries is unknown at this time.

 

The report lists the road conditions at the time of the accident as clear and dry.
