The A13 westbound has reopened.
It comes after a “serious collision and a vehicle fire”, according to National Highways.

National Highways anticipates the road will be closed until around 4.15pm, though these estimates often change.

Moped rider hospitalised
The moped rider who was injured was an adult man.
He is in The Royal London Hospital with an injured leg and wrist, an East of England Ambulance Service spokesperson said.

Vehicle fire
In addition to the crash, there has been a vehicle fire.
This comes from National Highways, who also confirmed the air ambulance attended the incident.
It said: “The A13 in Essex is closed westbound between the A1012 near North Stifford (Thurrock) and the M25/A282 due to a serious collision and vehicle fire.
“Essex emergency services are in attendance, including the Air Ambulance.”
