
HAZEL GREEN, Ala. (WAFF) – A Huntsville man is dead and two people were injured in a Hazel Green car accident on Friday night, according to HEMSI Spokesperson Don Webster.
Webster said the crash happened around 11:30 p.m. on Bobo Section Road and Mitchell Moore Road.
Alabama Law Enforcement Agency’s (ALEA) Highway Patrol Division troopers said the single-vehicle crash happened after the 1996 Ford Ranger that the man was driving left the roadway and struck a tree.
State troopers said 21-year-old Clayton Moyers of Huntsville was pronounced dead on the scene.
Matthew C. Smith, 20, was not wearing a seat belt at the time of the crash, and he was ejected from the vehicle, according to state troopers. Troopers said Natalie G. Williams, 20, also wasn’t wearing a seat belt at the time of the crash, and she was injured.
Smith and Williams were both rushed to Huntsville Hospital in critical condition. There is currently no update on their condition.
HEMSI, Bobo Volunteer Fire and Rescue, Toney Volunteer Fire and Rescue, Hazel Green Fire and Rescue, and Huntsville-Madison County Rescue Squad all responded and assisted on the scene.
The ALEA’s Highway Patrol Division continues to investigate this crash.
