LAKE OZARK —

Four children were found dead in a house fire on Carol Road in Lake Ozark Thursday morning.

Fourteen-year-old Tyler Otto, 8-year-old Cason Otto, 5-year-old Max Otto and 4-year-old Levi Otto died in the fire, officials said.

The Lake Ozark Fire Protection District received the structure fire call at 12:51 a.m. and were on scene in nine minutes. When firefighters responded to the fire, they were unable to enter the house due to heavy flames. The heat of the fire was so intense it spread to the stairwell of a neighbor’s house, according to fire officials.

Neighbors told firefighters the parents’ vehicle was not at the house, but the parents arrived shortly after and said their four children were inside.

Fire crews aggressively attacked the fire and performed a search and rescue to attempt to locate the children, according to a LOFPD release. All four victims were located in the home along with two pets.

Birdsley said the house is a total loss and the cause of the fire is still under investigation.

The four boys were in the Heritage Elementary and School of the Osage school district, fire officials said.
