
FRESNO COUNTY, Calif. — Two unrelated motorcyclists are dead after two separate collisions near one another in Fresno County.
The crashes happened about one hour apart and about half a mile from each other on Friday afternoon.
According to CHP, the first crash happened near Hwy 41 and Harlan Ave. at around 2 p.m. They say the driver, now identified asChristopher Ortega, 57, got impatient and intended to pass traffic and hit the K-rails.
Ortega was ejected and was pronounced dead at the scene.
The second crash was reported a short time later near Elm and Mount Whitney Avenues.
CHP officers say this deadly crash happened after traffic was diverted due to the first crash on Harlan Ave.
As heavy traffic piled up there, Joe Madrid, 41, of Clovis intended to pass traffic and crashed into an oncoming big rig.
