A school van with a driver and two elementary school students on board crashed into a body of water in Sudbury, Massachusetts, on Tuesday morning.
The crash occurred just before 8:30 a.m. at the intersection of Water Row and Old Sudbury Road.
Aerial video from the scene showed a white van with a school bus sign on top partially submerged in a swampy area located in between where the two roads split. An ambulance and several other emergency vehicles were at the crash scene.
Sudbury police said the school van went off the road into about 1-2 feet of water. Responding officers were able to get the two elementary-aged children out of the van. They were evaluated and released to parents who responded to the scene.
The driver of the van was taken to an area hospital and is expected to survive. The school van was not a Sudbury Public Schools vehicle. It was a privately run school van for an out of town school.
The cause of the crash remains under investigation, according to police.
