
Six people were involved in the smash between an Audi A3 and a Toyota Hilux in Bolton Road this afternoon.
Emergency services were called to the scene at around 12.20pm, with police confirming that none of the people in either car suffered life-threatening injuries.
One of the cars was said to be travelling “at speed” down the 30mph road.
Neil Unsworth, watch manager at Farnworth fire station, said that six people were taken to hospital with various injuries, including a 28-year-old man with a suspected broken pelvis. He was taken by air ambulance to Wythenshawe Hospital.
