A letter to members regarding the forthcoming Annual General Meeting.

Dear Member,

To complete our successful 2023 AFL season, the Annual General Meeting (AGM) of Members of the Collingwood Football Club (CFC) will be held at 6:00pm AEDT on Thursday December 14, 2023.

This year’s AGM will be a hybrid meeting with the option for Ordinary Members to attend in-person or join via video link. A Notice of Meeting will be sent to Members on Wednesday November 22, 2023 and will include instructions on how to join the meeting.

In addition to the normal business of our AGM, we will be seeking:

  1. Endorsement of our new Constitution, and;
  2. Election of two Directors, noting that current Directors Jodie Sizer and Paul Licuria are both standing for re-election to these positions.

Constitution

At the upcoming AGM, our Ordinary Members will be asked to approve the new Constitution as a special resolution, requiring the support of 75 per cent of the votes cast.

At the upcoming AGM, our Ordinary Members will be asked to approve the new Constitution as a special resolution, requiring the support of 75 per cent of the votes cast.

The new Constitution is the product of significant work by the Club working alongside a number of Members whose input has been invaluable. It is a modern and progressive document, aligns with best practice corporate governance for a Member-based organisation, and will underpin the Club’s governance moving forward.

The new Constitution is unanimously endorsed by all members of the Board, and the Board encourages all Ordinary Members to support its adoption.

Voting on the Constitution will take place by either a proxy form submitted prior to the AGM, or by attending the AGM and voting online or in person.  Further information on how to vote on the Constitution and attend the AGM will be provided in due course.

The new Constitution and answers to frequently asked questions can be found here.

Election of Directors

As noted above, Jodie Sizer and Paul Licuria are seeking re-election to the Board, and the Board unanimously and fully endorse and support their re-election.

Both Jodie and Paul have been and remain instrumental in helping to drive the success of the Club.

With Jodie and Paul seeking re-election to the Board, there will be no vacant positions at the AGM.  Members meeting the relevant qualifications for appointment as a Director may of course nominate for election to the Board and should seek further information from the Club’s Company Secretary Lachlan McDonald (lachlan.mcdonald@collingwoodfc.com.au) if they wish to do so.

The nominations period will open at 9:00am AEDT on Friday October 13, 2023 and close at 5:00pm AEDT on Thursday November 2, 2023. Nominations received after this time will not be accepted.

Key Dates (all times AEDT):

As our President Jeff Browne stated at the Copeland Trophy, our 16th Premiership is truly for our Members and is a testament to what we can achieve united together.

I look forward to connecting with as many of you as possible at our upcoming AGM.
